Training – obedience, show and puppy

Training is available for selected puppies as young as 8 weeks of age. We crate train, leash train and teach the pups sit, stay, come. By the time they come home, they sleep through the night from 10 to 6, potty on command and have learned to walk with you. They sit and stay at doors and gates and learn to ride in the car with a harness. They learn not to jump up or bite. They learn to be alone and away from their littermates. This is a two to three week program. Their potty training is started, but you will need to follow up to complete that portion of the training.

Obedience training is available for dogs at about 10 months and older. Dogs live with us for 4 – 6 weeks and learn crate training, leash training (some will work off leash as well), down stay in the house as well as house manners. They learn to ride happily in the car and to go into stores and to be around people and other dogs quietly and comfortably. They learn to retrieve and bring it back. There is more detailed training available depending on the dogs maturity and ability to learn.

Show training is available at any age. If the dog is not crate trained already, we will do that. They learn to ride in the car and the trailer and to get along with other dogs. They learn to move nicely on a show lead and to stand and be examined by strangers. They learn the animation necessary to be a show dog. They travel to the shows with me to gain experience. This training is only done with reservations in advance.
